Madison, MN (KARE) — ) Dave Giles is not only the girls' basketball coach at Lac qui Parle Valley High School in Madison, Minnesota, but also teaches in the wood shop for the school. Recently, his proudest moment as both a teacher and a coach came after this year's basketball MVP decided to share something very special with two of her teammates. "That's probably the proudest thing I've ever cut before," said the teacher. "Something I've never seen," said Ryan Giles. At 7:30 the next morning the player who won the MVP award the day before, Alaysia Freetly was standing at his desk, MVP plaque in hand. Alaysia said that she "...started to get a little teary-eyed and she said, 'Coach, I need to ask you to divide this plaque up into three. Freetly, a high school junior and two-time all-state athlete in cross country, felt that Kaitlin Connor, a Junior, and 8th grader Kelsea Lund deserved the honor just as much as she did.
